Green Split Pea Soup
(5 Litre pressure cooker)

     Serves: 6  Pressure Cooking Time 12 minutes
 
1¾ cups green split peas 
6¼ cups water 
5 cubes vegetable bouillon 
½ tsp seasoning salt 
1/8 tsp pepper 
a large pinch chervil 
a large pinch dried basil leaves 
a large pinch dried marjoram leaves 
a large pinch dried thyme leaves 
a pinch sage 
¼ cup celery finely chopped
1 small (4 oz / 120 g) onion finely chopped
1 small (4 oz / 120 g) carrot finely chopped
½ medium (2 oz / 60 g) green pepper de-seeded and finely chopped

   Method
1 Recipe can be reduced to one-half by reducing all ingredients proportionately.
2 Put all ingredients except celery, onion, carrot and green pepper in cooker. Stir.
3 Close cooker. Bring to full pressure on high heat. Reduce heat and cook for 12 minutes.
4 Remove cooker from heat. Allow to cool naturally.
5 Open cooker. Add remaining ingredients.
6 Place cooker on medium heat. Boil for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve hot.
